UC clinicals in Wyoming and the state form UC asks for
Wyoming is open to every UC program not limited to Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana residents, but it's one of three states where UC wants extra state paperwork. Here that means the Wyoming State Board of Nursing Faculty Qualification Sheet, due at constateauth@uc.edu no later than a week before the semester. UC's own pages disagree about it, so confirm the form before anyone fills it in.

UC programs open in Wyoming
Wyoming is on none of UC's exclusion lists, and UC's supplemental background check list leaves it off. What sets it apart is paperwork, covered below. Where UC allows clinicals has the national view.

The Faculty Qualification Sheet, and a gap in UC's pages
UC groups Wyoming with California and North Dakota: each needs a state form in UC's constateauth@uc.edu inbox a week or more before the semester, outside the preceptor packet. For Wyoming, the document UC links is the Wyoming State Board of Nursing Faculty Qualification Sheet, and the form itself is dated 2016.
The gap: the Clinical Planning page's deadline table names Wyoming but links forms only for California and North Dakota. The Wyoming sheet turns up instead on UC's Becoming a Preceptor page, which is written for clinicians, and neither page says who completes it. Before your Wyoming preceptor spends time on it, ask constateauth@uc.edu or your CSC to confirm the current Wyoming form and the person expected to sign it. The other two states are on UC's California, North Dakota and Wyoming forms.
Don't let the 2016 date or the missing link talk you out of the Wyoming form: get UC's answer well before the one-week deadline.
What the Wyoming board expects from UC
The board's Chapter 6 rules treat pre-licensure and post-licensure schools very differently. LPN and RN pre-licensure programs from elsewhere must request permission. APRN, DNP, MSN and RN-to-BSN programs count as post-licensure and skip approval, but each time one of their students will have clinical learning in Wyoming, the school sends the board written notice, and the board even offers a sample cover letter for it.
Two conditions sit behind that notice. The school must hold either a registration with Wyoming's Department of Education or NC-SARA approval, and it needs a signed written agreement with the facility before the first clinical day, with a copy on file for the board. UC's written contract with a site is the Educational Affiliation Agreement, which usually takes at least six weeks.
Preceptors and licensing
AANP rates Wyoming as full practice, but physician assistants aren't an option, since Wyoming isn't one of UC's PA states. UC's standard profile still applies: master's-level education or higher, certification, one year or more in the role, and an unencumbered Wyoming-valid license, with NPs responsible for 20% or more of NP-track hours.
Wyoming entered the NLC on January 19, 2018; any member state's multistate license works here and meets UC's RN license rule. Wyoming's legislature also adopted the APRN Compact, yet it stays dormant until seven states sign on, and only five had by 2026.

Large employers include Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Casper's Banner Wyoming Medical Center, Gillette's Campbell County Health, Laramie's Ivinson Memorial Hospital and Sheridan Memorial Hospital, though listing them here doesn't mean any has hosted a UC student. No Wyoming preceptor incentive turned up either.

What is the Wyoming Faculty Qualification Sheet?
It's a Wyoming State Board of Nursing form, dated 2016, that UC links for clinicals in Wyoming. UC's deadline for its state forms, which also cover California and North Dakota, is a week before the semester at the latest, by email to constateauth@uc.edu and apart from the preceptor packet. UC's pages don't say who completes the Wyoming sheet, so confirm that first.
Does the Wyoming board have to approve UC's program?
No. Under the board's Chapter 6 rules, post-licensure programs such as MSN, DNP, APRN and RN-to-BSN skip approval. UC still has duties: NC-SARA approval or a registration with Wyoming's education department, a written heads-up to the board about Wyoming clinicals, and a facility contract signed ahead of time. Those steps fall to UC, not to you.
Do I need a Wyoming RN license for UC clinicals?
Usually not. A multistate license issued by any compact member works in Wyoming, a member since 2018. UC requires an RN license valid where your clinical takes place and verifies it as a Critical Requirement. If your license is valid only in a state outside the compact, you'll need a Wyoming license.
Could a physician assistant precept me in Wyoming?
No. Wyoming is missing from UC's short list of PA states, so a Wyoming PA can't be your preceptor, whatever their experience. Build your Wyoming rotations on NPs, adding physicians where your track permits them. Next-door Montana does appear on UC's PA list, with case-by-case approval and limited hours.
