Most states are open to UC's graduate clinicals, but seven are not, Washington is closed to DNP programs, and a few tracks take only Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana residents. Each state page covers what UC allows there, who can precept you and how licensing works.

Which states can't UC place graduate clinicals in?
The seven sit in their own group in the list on this page. UC's DNP programs add Washington to them. The online RN-to-BSN runs on a separate list, and it is the only UC program that Arizona and New York residents can take.
Do some states need extra UC paperwork?
Yes. California, North Dakota and Wyoming each have a state form that goes to UC's state-authorization mailbox (constateauth@uc.edu) a week or more before term, apart from the preceptor packet. Kansas APRN students take an extra clinical elective to meet that state's hours.
Does my RN license have to be from the state where I do clinicals?
It has to be valid there: a current, unrestricted RN license in the clinical state, or a multistate compact license that covers it. For telehealth hours, the license must cover the state where the patient is.
